Welcome to my blog.
I am Sam Russell 15 years old.I leave school within the next couple of weeks.
I plan to work 2 days a week part-time and concentrate fully on my biking.
I live in a village just outside Kendal in the glorious English Lake District, both the Kentmere valley and Longsleddale are on my door step.
When I was 13 years old I went for my first mountain bike ride in Grizedale forest near Hawkshead with my brother and dad and loved it even though I didn’t cover a lot of distance and was shattered.
I just loved being out in the fresh air and seeing places that I could explore.
My life now revolves around primarily mountain bike racing & road racing.
I work part time at Wheelbase in Staveley and ride for the Wheelbase/Gore Bike wear race team.
My aim is to become a full time pro cyclist, competing in mountain biking and road racing with a goal of getting on the British squad and challenging the best in the world.
I am fortunate to have professional coaching from Adrian Timmis ex-tour de France rider, who has helped with all aspects of my training.
Watch this space!
Sam
