Jesus Christ!!… I’ve never been so close to death!
I’m Only 15 years old and i thought i was a “Gonna” today!,
Well after sleeping in till 10.00am it was going to be a late ride today, I set off from my door just after lunchtime, the weather forecast last night was showers later in the day so I hadnt made the best choice setting off late.
As I set off it started spitting and the clouds were black as coal !, I headed up the steep rocky track which i normally go up for some good climbing training, after about 500 metres up the track i got a puncture. This was the 5th puncture since I got my new bike (week old bike) … I took the rear wheel off to fix the puncture and noticed the side wall was split.
I knew the ride I had planned would have to be cut short! I fixed the puncture as best I could.
The rain was coming down extremely heavy and I was just waiting for sky to errupt. All of a sudden it thundered and then flashed lighting. I was metres from getting struck by lighting the ground vibrated under my feet it was that close!, iIhad no were to take cover as I was half way up this exposed mountain!.
Oh my god it was one of the scariest things of my life ,thunder and lightening were so loud and right above my head I thought i was a gonna!..It was so scary.
I put the rear wheel back on my bike and had to make the 12 mile journey back home as fast as I could.
It was thunder and lighting all the way home with torrential rains!.. It was pretty damn scary!… I was all on my own too which made it that little bit more scarier!
